On Friday March 24th we were at Teasers for Foreplay Friday with DJ Tome V, and he announced that after his set he would be doing a set at TAP for Relay for Life called Stronger Together. We were both excited to not only go and support our friend DJ Tome V, but also to be a part of an event that means so much to us. You see I, Star, actually have blood cancer, and my mother (rl) has pancreatic cancer. On top of that I have lost several family members to cancer already. So we went, and even though you experience different personalities that don’t always mesh well, we ended up having such a fabulous time! Wyatt was so kind and welcoming, and we became instant friends. We already knew several of the members of staff, and I even got roped into signing up for the Jail and Bail event the next day. $30k later I was finally released from prison! We met new friends, we caught up with old friends, and we had such an amazing time. TAP and Stronger Together is exactly what the name depicts, together we are always stronger and the funds raised were for such a good cause, but even more it was so much fun! A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDERS OF TAP
As Stronger Together (ST) draws to a close, now is the time to take a deep breath. Nevertheless, the fun, joy and work have not ended. We personally made some great new friends over ST and that is what TAP is all about.
The owners of TAP wish to thank our Creative Team, SCOR, Midsumr, Paige and Shades, for their hard work in creating such a beautiful location. We would also like to thank Spear for her tireless leadership and guidance. We would like to send out a HUGE thank you to our event sponsors, Lorena Chung, SCOR, Scorr Paul from Vside Radio, Johnny Codesmith from Guided Balloon Tours, for their support. A special thank you to this year's awesome TAP staff team; https://www.tap-sl.com/about.html We wouldn't have been able to make any of this happen without each and every one of you!
An example of the strength of our unity is the monies that were raised by our team over this one weekend! Midsumr and Shades will have the amount raised over these two days for us soon. Our current total over all so far for Relay for Life in SecondLife is L$2,384,785. As a team we rank 1st of 122 teams. Insofar as all funds raised go to the American Cancer Society, the Adult community of Second Life, has made a commitment to do everything we can to stand united and stride to make a difference in helping those with Cancer.
Let's start planning our individual events to be held at your own region or club. If you need help please reach out to any of the management team for support or help. We want to promote and support your event. To have your event posted in the TAP calendar or website please be sure to advise our Director of Events, Clairbear Sassypants . We are here to help you along our journey.
